Thomas and Margaret Henderson were Irish convicts who arrived in Sydney in 1793. Their background in Ireland has not yet been discovered. Their only son, Robert Henderson, is the path to the next generation in this family tree.
The full story is in the document to the right and some of the resources used are available below.
Note: The document '1834-henderson-john-marriage.jpg' is provided to disprove a theory promulgated by some researchers that the John Henderson who married Ruth Hill in 1834 was the son of Thomas and Margaret Henderson. This document shows that the John Henderson in question was a convict who arrived 25 years after Thomas and Margaret and 15 years after Margaret died. I have found no information to suggest that Thomas and Margaret ever had a son named John and I suspect that Robert may have been an only child.
These are rough notes made during my research, They include some events and discoveries not included in the final story.Â
